Yes and no. There are a number of factors that can cause hair to grow back such as hormones, however we can say that laser will permanently reduce the amount of hair you have.

The laser emits concentrated light beams of 3x wavelengths 810nm, 755nm and 1064nm of laser light that is absorbed by the pigment in the hair. The light energy is converted to heat, which damages hair follicles that produce the hairs. This damage inhibits or delays future hair growth. As new hair growth cycles start, additional treatments are required to remove those hairs too. Laser is not 100% removal but a successful laser course is anything from 70% of hair reduction or more.

How many sessions you need is dependant on a few factors such as hormones, hair type, and how responsive the hair is. We generally say that 6-10 sessions is the average amount needed for a 90% reduction in unwanted hair. In most cases, darker, coarser hair on lighter skin tones often require fewere sessions.

No, Laser is attracted to pigment, therefore it works best on hair that is brown or darker. Laser does not work on hair that has no pigment, i.e. light blonde, light red, and white hairs.

Laser hair removal is generally considered safe and effective for individuals who have reached puberty and over. Most laser clinics will recommend waiting until at least the age of 18 before undergoing the treatment due to the immaturity of hair follicles and fluctuating hormones.

It is important to wash the area before, removing any creams, oils, dirt and fake tan etc. The area should be shaved so there is no hair follicle sitting above the skin. This will help towards pain and effectivity of the treatment.
